Overview
Moments ("we," "our," or "the app") is a personal video diary app that helps you capture, generate, manage, and revisit daily video memories. This policy explains what information Moments may collect or process, why it is used, and how you can manage or delete it.
Information We Collect or Process
Moments may collect or process the following information to provide app functionality:
- Account information: email address, authentication provider, Firebase user ID, username, display name, and email verification status.
- Profile content: optional profile photo and profile metadata.
- User content: video clips, generated diary videos, file metadata, and storage metadata used to create and manage your moments.
- App activity and diagnostics: events such as onboarding, sign-in, account, and reliability-related app activity used to understand product usage and improve stability.
- Device-related analytics identifiers: identifiers or technical data provided by analytics services for app analytics and diagnostics, where applicable.
How We Use Information
We use information to create and secure your account, verify email-password accounts, provide profile and username features, save and manage moments inside the app, support account deletion, understand app usage, improve reliability, and prevent abuse or unauthorized access.
Services We Use
Moments uses Firebase services, including Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Firebase Storage, and Firebase Analytics. These services support sign-in, account management, username/profile features, profile image storage, app functionality, and analytics.
Moments also supports sign-in providers such as Sign in with Apple and Google Sign-In. Those providers may process information according to their own privacy terms when you choose to use them.
Permissions
- Camera: to record video clips.
- Microphone: to capture audio with video clips.
- Photos: to save generated diary videos to your Photos library when you choose to export.
- Notifications: to send reminders if you enable them.
Moments requests permissions only when needed for a feature or when you choose to enable that feature.
Storage and Sync
- App-managed media: video clips and generated diary videos may be stored in the app's file system and can be managed or deleted through app storage tools.
- Account and profile data: authentication data, username, display name, email verification status, and profile metadata may be stored with Firebase services.
- Profile images: optional profile photos may be cached on your device and synced through Firebase Storage.
- Preferences: app settings, such as notification preferences, may be stored on your device.
Backup, sync, or cloud storage features may be introduced or expanded as Moments evolves. We will update this policy if those features materially change how information is handled.
Sharing
Moments does not sell your personal information. We may share information with service providers that help operate the app, including Firebase, Apple, and Google services used for authentication, storage, database, analytics, and app functionality. We do not use your information for third-party advertising or cross-app tracking.
Data Deletion
- Individual clips or diaries: delete them inside the app where deletion tools are available.
- Storage management: use app storage tools to delete older moments or selected date ranges.
- Profile photo: replace or remove your profile photo where available.
- App data on device: deleting the app removes app-managed data stored by the app on that device.
- Account deletion: use Settings > Delete Account to delete your Moments account, profile data, username, synced profile photo, and clips or generated diaries saved inside this app on that device, or contact us if you need help.
Some information may remain for a limited time where required for security, legal, fraud-prevention, backup, or operational reasons.
Security
We use authentication, email verification for email-password accounts, Firebase security rules, and input validation to help protect account and profile data. No app or service can guarantee perfect security, but we work to reduce risk and protect user information appropriately.
Children's Privacy
Moments is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as Moments evolves, including when backup, sync, account, analytics, or storage features change. The "Last Updated" date will reflect the latest update.
